ZenTrack Privacy Policy

ZenTrack is designed as a personal finance app that primarily works on your device. This policy explains what information the app processes, how that information is used, and what controls you have based on the features currently present in the project, including ledgers, transactions, assets, budgets, recurring entries, localization, theme preferences, export tools, and optional app lock features.

Local-first storage No mandatory sign-up No ad SDKs in the current app Biometric data stays with your device OS
Most data stays on your device

Financial records such as books, accounts, assets, categories, budgets, and transactions are stored in the app's local database.

Security features are optional

If you enable app lock, ZenTrack may store settings like a PIN or biometric preference using secure device storage.

Exports happen only when you ask

CSV exports are created only after you choose a save location using the system file dialog.

No account required

The current application structure does not require registration, login, or a cloud profile to use core ledger and finance features.

No advertising profile

The current codebase does not integrate advertising networks or ad targeting SDKs.

No analytics service in code

We did not find analytics, crash reporting, or remote event tracking services in the current implementation.

You control exported files

Once you export data, the privacy of that file depends on where you choose to store or share it.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to ZenTrack, a personal finance and expense tracking application built with Flutter. ZenTrack supports features such as transaction recording, multiple ledgers, categories and tags, budgets, recurring entries, reports, calendar views, assets and liabilities, localization, theme customization, and optional security settings.

Based on the current project implementation, ZenTrack is designed to work mainly with on-device storage rather than a developer-operated cloud backend. That means your finance information is generally kept on your own device unless you deliberately export or share it.

2. Data We Process

Depending on how you use the app, ZenTrack may process the following categories of information:

  • Financial content you create, such as ledger names, accounts, assets, liabilities, balances, transactions, notes, categories, tags, budgets, recurring rules, and recurring templates.
  • App preferences, such as language, theme mode, theme accent, onboarding status, display name, and avatar selection.
  • Optional security settings, such as whether biometric unlock is enabled and any app PIN you choose to set.
  • Exported transaction data when you choose to create a CSV export.
  • Basic technical information needed by the operating system to run the app, such as device-level authentication results when you use biometric verification.
Local database The current app stores core finance records in a local SQLite database on the device.
Secure storage Some sensitive preferences, such as app lock settings and PIN, may be stored using platform secure storage.
Biometric flow ZenTrack can request authentication through the operating system, but it does not receive or store your fingerprint or face data.
Export behavior CSV files are generated only on demand and saved to a location that you select through the system file picker.

3. How We Use Information

ZenTrack uses the information it processes to:

  • Store and display your ledgers, transactions, assets, budgets, recurring entries, and reports.
  • Calculate summaries such as balances, net assets, budget status, report figures, and calendar-based views.
  • Remember your personalization settings, such as language, profile name, avatar, theme mode, and accent color.
  • Protect access to the app when you enable a PIN or biometric lock.
  • Create user-requested exports so you can save or move your own financial records.

4. Permissions and Device Features

The current implementation mainly relies on device-local features. When relevant, ZenTrack may interact with:

  • Biometric authentication provided by your device operating system, if you choose to enable app lock.
  • Secure storage provided by the operating system for sensitive app settings.
  • A system file save dialog when you export data to CSV.

Based on the current project files, ZenTrack does not appear to request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or advertising identifier for normal use.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

Based on the current project implementation, ZenTrack does not send your finance data to a developer-run remote server as part of normal use. ZenTrack also does not include advertising SDKs or analytics libraries that would normally profile you for ads or behavior tracking.

Information may still leave your device in limited cases:

  • When you export a CSV file and choose to store, share, email, or upload that file using other apps or services.
  • When platform providers, device backup services, or app stores process technical information under their own privacy terms.
  • When disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal request.

ZenTrack does not sell your personal information and does not rent your financial data to third parties based on the current version of the project.

6. Storage, Retention, and Security

Your records generally remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, uninstall the app, or remove exported files that you created. Secure settings may also remain in protected device storage until removed.

ZenTrack uses platform features such as local databases and secure storage to reduce unnecessary exposure of your information. No software security measure is perfect, and you remain responsible for protecting your device, backups, and any exported files.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can control your information in several ways:

  • Edit or delete records such as transactions, assets, budgets, categories, tags, and ledgers within the app.
  • Turn biometric unlock on or off through app settings.
  • Delete exported CSV files from the location where you saved them.
  • Remove local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app, subject to any device backup behavior outside the app itself.

8. Children's Privacy

ZenTrack is a general-purpose personal finance tool and is not designed specifically for children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information through the app, they should remove the data from the device and exported files under their control.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if ZenTrack adds new features, storage models, permissions, integrations, or distribution methods. The latest version should always reflect the current application behavior.

10. Contact
